15 faces
this is a page of faces. when i doodle, i almost always draw faces. so i told jeff i'd do a whole page of 'em. i just can't seem to get motivated to do anything more finished/polished...
Phrase of last week and menu Buddha thing. Tiredness is not good sometimes.
Attention fellow bloggers, phrase this week: "the sleep of reason produces malodorous monsters" (don't blame me for this phrase, Jeff made me write it.) Alternatively: "25 cerebellums are hovering right above you."
jaysis Mr.Dancing Bear, seems like those coupla design tips from de White Horse are doin de biz wha',nice stuff :) heres a little cover thingy i popped offf fer a geezer in Berlin, just yer average space picnic..... anyhoo hope yer all well :)
Well, this isn't as polished as the Mr. Dancing Bear but here is my sketch of the day. The jester has a nice Chuck Jones smile on him (think Witch Hazel).
This is a logo design I did for a flower delivery company in Edmonton called Bou-K run by Jim Pettinger. His brief was, "give me a something like a bear on a moped delivering frowers." So I did. And this is it.
My little lady's little cousin hasn't been doing to good lately. He was taken into hospital. Anyway, I decided that maybe he might like a little drawing. The last time I saw him, I was drawing animals that kids suggested in Batman outfits. So, I decided to do this Bat-Anteater for him. I was so pleased to hear that when he saw it, he just sat there beaming from ear to ear. So, maybe I'll get to heaven after all....who am I kidding...I'm currently working on Super Hippo for him.
This is a sketch I did for a piece of character development work for an OEM book. I based it on Laura's neice, Annie. I thought it was cute so I coloured it up a little. It's kinda cute I thought. So here's the pencil and the colour.
Here is a sketchpage that I did this weekend. I used this quite handsome looking character for a card I did for Sarah and Shawn. They are leaving for Korea today. Sad as I already miss them and they haven't even left yet (get outta here you're ruining the pathos). Now I have to start saving my pennies for that slow junket to the land of soju and kimchi! On that note, we were thinking last night that we should start a word of the week theme here. What do ya think Jon-jon and Baz? So, I thought for this week in appropriate style of sending S & S off properly the phrase could be: Cats on a plane. Cuz they are taking their cat with them, Mr. Lunch!
Um. Math class is exciting. The second picture is a collaboration of my math teacher and me. Hahah, oh she's so great. Gotta love her style. Oh, and my mum made me post these. (Sorry they're kind of lame.)
Wow, I'm so sad about Ryan Larkin dying of lung cancer. These are just some little sketches inspired by his "walking" film. What a tragic yet beautiful person. Rest in peace...
Here is a character design that I have been working on. I even tried using Photoshop to add a little coloured hickishness into him. Damn, I sure is tinkin' dat wis eetin' possum t'nite!
this is a thumbnail i did for my sister's and brother's cd insert. ( the cd's called sweet waltz, bitter waltz, by teach yourself piano- check it out!) sometimes i like my scribbles better than the finished paintings. almost always, actually... anyhow, i haven't drawn for a few days, (don't tell jeff) so am resorting to old stuff. man...
I don't know what it is about big noses but I like drawing them. I drew this one while listening to the Pogues the other night. I don't think I like the lil' Amish beard. He deserves a more bristly one with big side burns. Animating wise though, I think it would be cool with the squash and stretchy on the lower part against the movement of that beak of a nose.
This is another sketch I found that was kinda cute. I did it back in 2003. Anyhoo, just another bit of doodlin'.
Hey, Well here's me. I didn't bother to use a mirror, I just drew what I think I looked like yesterday...I may have made myself a bit more handsome than I actually am!
i just love drawing with this korean brush pen. i drew this of my 10 year old self, praying that i would get taller. ummm...it didn't work. the prayer, i mean. the sketch works ok i think.
Since I am just spending the day hacking up phlegm whilst my head attempts to dislodge itself from my body, I decided to doodle. I did this with a col-erase red to compliment the ever so plump and pouting thomas j.! This character sort of reminds me of 'Eye'-gor from Young Frankenstein caught in a fifties animation. I will say that drawing hasn't been such a big part of my everyday life in such a long time and it feels goooooood! Hot n' Sour soup for the soul!
my cat is fat. and is such a peaceful cat. he makes me want to have a long nap... this was done with a colerase pencil and katie enhanced the scan. thanks, kate.
For some reason I was inspired to draw Nemo's Nautilus getting attacked by a giant squid. After I scanned it I realized it's not as good as it was in my head. Anyway, here it is.
Some people asked me if this was this a self portrait. I said, well, I suppose it could be. But nah, not really, actually. Maybe I just hope I don't look much like this crazed character?
I wonder how much one must drink in an evening to wake up like this in the morning. When one utters the words, "Jayziz, I got some bleedin' head on me", one is in for a big suprise when one looks in the mirror. The warbly voice like Zoiberg could be easily enduced by a furry tongue, but man...that's quite the head.
Just another Encephelopod to add to the whole squid thing! :-)
Since this blog has Squid in the name and the MAN has posted a few tenticled beasties, I decided to doodle this HORROR to scare the bejaysis out of everyone. It is a horror to give H.P Lovecraft's Cthulu a run for its money! Cower in its deadly gaze!
Well, there I was just doodling and what happened. I manged to Draw Mr. Squidling himself...it's been a while but this really reminded me of him so, here ya go! That's for posting the rabbit ya wee shite!
Well, here's my first post on here. I drew a baby elephant and promtply realised that I had infact just drawn somthing remarkably like Tantor from Tarzan. Anyhoo, it's cute and fun so I thought I'd post it anyway!
I woke up rather early this morning and blurrily looked out the frost bitten window and this is what I saw...kinda. So, I sketched it in the dim light of the bedroom, ruining my eyes just a little bit more and tried to take a photo of it. I have been wanting to do a show documenting all the things I see. I am sure between me and squidulin we could fill up alot of wall space. Anyway, if people want to send me money all the proceeds will go towards new windows or a mail order Russian bride. Don't worry they are used to the cold.
This is my bird that came in from the cold that I have been feeding. I know...it looks like a bird head skewered on some tongs but ya know he is sad and a warning to all...bwahahahaaahaaaaa cough cough ha.
This is for those small kiddies in Mississauga that bring a smile to my face and wanna make me do a 'reallytoohappy' dance in the searchlight of the escape alarms.
