Just need to reduce your opacities a little more to blend your hues better.
when starting, start with the close to the darkest blue. About 80% to the black in your colour picker. Then block in the WHOLE image with that.
Then add lighter hues of the blues. Starting with about 10 or 20% lighter than your base colour. Add it at about 20% opacity and flow at the same. If you want harder edges, up your opacity to about 60% and your flow to 40. You'll notice adding hues like this will create your half tones for you.
